FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tallow going to make me smell like a beef cow?
No. We are told time and time again from our customers that our tallow does not have the beefy smell that most other tallows do. That's because we have perfected the rendering process and have chosen a healthier carrier oil in our tallow. We understand that everyone's sense of smell is unique. So, IF you smell any scent of beef, it will be extremely slight and it won't smell that way on your skin.
Where does Blessed Balms Tallow come from?
We source all of our tallow from Udder Hills Meats, the family farm that Lyndsey grew up on. All of the tallow we get from them is hormone, steroid free and antibiotic free. Every animal goes through a USDA inspection process before we get the tallow. What that means for you is you're getting the highest quality tallow raised from a local family farm that cares about the care and health of the animal.
Where can I find Blessed Balms Tallow?
You can purchase online through our website; we ship to the entire US. We are at the Farmers Market off of Carmichael Rd. in Hudson, WI every Saturday May - Oct. We also have two pickup locations at Udder Hills Meats located in Maiden Rock, WI, and also at Reflections Salon located in River Falls, WI. Just choose your pickup location at checkout instead of shipping.
What is the shelf life of my Blessed Balms Tallow?
A year. from the research we've done. Tallow's shelf life is around a year. But we know you'll love it so much it will be gone before that!
Does my tallow need to be refrigerated?
Nope! you can store at room temperature.
The consistency of my tallow has changed slightly over time, is this normal?
Yes, our tallow has no preservatives in it. So overtime the texture and consistency may change. But that's ok! You're tallow is still safe to use and will still work just the same. All you need to do is rub it in the palm of your hand and you'll notice it still applies the same way.
